Agricultural Crops and Spatial Distribution of Migrants: Case Studies in Campania Region (Southern Italy)

Abstract In the current context of increasing stabilization migrants permanently residing in Campania region (southern Italy), this paper aims to investigate relationship between spatial distribution and work opportunities agricultural sector. We analyse data agriculture population censuses currently available at municipality level (referring 2011) we apply autocorrelation techniques, using Local Indicator Spatial Association (LISA) Getis-Ord Gi* statistic. The maps clusters (classified by continent) crops or breeding (horticulture, orchards citrus, buffalo poultry farms), highlight a positive correspondence resulting hot spots. Finally, overlay cluster understand significance any external factors, such as employment areas where have settled.
